 Dev was working with energy company Eon to show you how to make moving home a stress-free as possible.

we're going to use a range of everyday items..

1. Before you start Filling boxes take a knife or a pair of scissors and carefully cut slips into the side of the box like this (@ 0:16)

fold the cardboard up inside and do the same on the other side to help make lifting easier..

2. If you've got furniture with handles that stick out like this(0:27)

unscrew them and turn around to the inside this should stop them damaging other items while moving you can make a temporary handle out of tape by folding type of way back on itself then sticking it to the inside in the drawer like this then fill the drawers with as much as you can to transport as many items as possible. when you're done you can hold them all together and protect them from knocks and scrapes with cling film.

3. If you've got electrical items with lots of wires keep a record of how they all plugged together by taking a picture with your phone and while you're at it take a photo of the energy meters to to keep a note of the readings and remember to tell you energy supplier when you're moving home and what these readings are.

4. If you're dismantling pieces of furniture. you can use food box to keep all the loose screws together labeled the contents or you could just take the back to the item the contents belong to. use colored labels to group boxes from different rooms so you know exactly where to put them when you get to your new home.

5. When it comes to packing clothes you can save time by keeping them on the hangers. wrap them in a bin liner like this(@1:40) to keep the dust of and keep the hoax out say could hang them straight up in your new wardrobe.

6. You can use linen to wrap up fragile objects, this saves using newspaper or bubble wrap.

7. You can use paper plates to help prevent your crockery from chipping, pack all your essentials into a separate box so you have everything you need when you arrive in your new home.

8. And, finally leave some stamped addressed envelope so the new owners can forward on an email to your new home...
