Apple admits that golden iPhone was created to please Chinese

In an interview with Bloomberg BusinessWeek China, CEO Tim Cook said that Apple added a golden option to its line of iPhones because the color is popular in China.
But Apple is going beyond the gold to appeal their Chinese customers. The company is also investing in the country's education. Cook told Bloomberg that Apple is supporting more than 180 test programs to teach children Chinese smartphone technology.
Why does it matter?
China is currently the largest market of Apple in the world, behind the US. The company saw a 70% increase year over year only in its revenue from the iPhone.
