"With hindsight ice to the North each year, many bears are stranded on land where there is not much food," says Kerstin Langenberger in its publication accompanying the photo posted on Facebook on 20 August. With this shot, shared 35,000 times and performed in the Norwegian Svalbard archipelago, the German photographer hoped challenge. She explains:

    "Yes, I saw healthy bear, but I've also seen hungry polar bears. They walk along the coast in search of food (...) and I realized that the big bear are almost exclusively males. The females, they are often thinner. They remain on the ice all year. And with the retreat of sea ice, a little more each year, where they remain stuck there not much food. "
