Samsung creates "transparent" truck - Samsung's prototype "Safety Truck" offers view of the road ahead with feature rich smart electronic LCDs etc that are capable of capturing the front view and shows it on the rear side LCD display.

Samsung Electronics has set up big TVs in the back of their truck trailers. While it may seem like a form of advertising, the intention was simply to promote road safety.

The giant Korean electronics is in many consumer durables, most notable among them the big-screen TVs and mobile phones. Therefore, Samsung thought of coming up with an innovative way of using television makes improving road safety. The concept, called "Safety Truck" has revolutionized road safety with a very simple solution.

Some time ago Land Rover had added cameras at the bottom of his jeep to the hood disappear, making it easier for drivers to see the road that is usually hidden by the front end of the vehicle. Similarly, the road is completely hidden by big trucks that ply on highways. These trucks make it impossible for drivers to carry with them to see what is before them. Moreover, the drivers behind the truck can not decipher whether it is safe to overcome the giants

To make simple subsequent decision drivers, Samsung four monitors mounted large outdoor in the back of trucks. With cameras mounted on the front of the truck feeding a live view, drivers can see behind what was once impossible. The cameras also have a night vision mode ensure the grab handles to see the road ahead, even overnight.

The technology was inspired by the high incidence of traffic accidents in Argentina. Narrow roads and single lanes are often the cause of many deaths. According to research from Samsung, almost a person dies in a traffic accident every hour, and almost 80 percent of deaths are due to drivers trying to overtake other vehicles colliding with traffic.

The Safety Truck was developed in collaboration with Leo Burnett advertising company and the Argentine coach Ingematica group. Although the technology has been deployed in Argentina, it can be used anywhere in the world. A simple installation of televisions that provides a clear view of what lies ahead can greatly help drivers make a decision. These drivers can quickly decide whether to accelerate and advance or simply trace the truck until it presents an opportunity to overcome.

Anyone who has driven behind these big trucks knows that it is almost impossible to know if the road is clear ahead or not. Therefore the risk of accident increases greatly. Combine the same with high speeds, lack of skill, and impatience and the chances that launched an oncoming vehicle to improve drastically. With Samsung's solution, drivers now have a clear idea of what is to come and can make informed decisions, saving many lives.
